It is an exciting time to be a Jaguar! In preparation for the spring 2017 semester, we have some important updates for students with classes at Brooks City-Base. At the end of fall 2016, all classes at Brooks City-Base Campus will cease and be relocated to between Main Campus and Alamo University Center (AUC) when classes resume January 2017.
The move to Main Campus provides extended office hours for most areas from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m., including coverage during lunchtime. Students will also benefit from one-stop customer service for financial aid, registrar services, advising and Welcome Center amenities with close proximity to Student Business Services. The consolidation of campuses also brings greater ITS help desk support, additional food options and a more vibrant campus life with recreational opportunities.
As our classroom availability changes from the closure of the Brooks City-Base Campus, class schedules will be adjusted. The course schedule, available in mid-October, will reflect classes offered throughout the day, additional classes offered at 6:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m., and new classes on Friday and Saturday. These additional class days and times will be located both at Main Campus and AUC. All eight-week MBA HyFlex classes will be available only at AUC as a pilot program. Students will still be able to attend all HyFlex sections (noted as section number 150s in the class schedule), face-to-face, streaming live via Adobe Connect, or by watching the recorded video. The University faculty and staff are mindful of both work and family needs and are all dedicated to providing you options to a timely graduation. Additionally, to help with the commutes between school and work, student worker positions are available to help reduce the number of times a commute to campus is required.
Thank you for your help and understanding as we make history together as this University grows. We also encourage you to join future Master Planning Update meetings to stay informed about new buildings, growth and changes as our University evolves. Reminders about the change will be on the campus televisions and other locations as the move approaches.
